It is raining remakes and sequels in Bollywood -- after Farhan Akhtar with "Don", David Dhawan takes the plunge with "Amar Akbar Anthony".

He has roped in Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan in the roles of Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor respectively.

Remaking cult films is a daunting task as they are subject to inevitable comparisons. It sure takes a lot to remake a cult film, especially if it happens to be an Amitabh film.

"I am okay with the concept of remakes. Remaking a film is tough though the idea behind it is not essentially to better the original film. I mean there are certain things that can be enhanced in terms of styling, visual effects, music, etc. while certain things cannot be bettered. It's just our way of paying a tribute to the original. Many youngsters have not seen 'Devdas' and 'Don'," said Arbaaz.

"It is definitely challenging to live up to everyone's expectations. I personally feel that one is more likely to lose than gain as far as remakes are concerned," he added.

Dhawan's "Amar Akbar Anthony" has already generated huge hype but Arbaaz says it's just a proposed situation and things are yet to be finalised.

"It's premature to talk about the project since it is slated to go on floors next year. I have grown up watching such films and it's just our way of paying homage to the classic."

So, how different is Dhawan's "Amar..." and who is playing Arbaaz's love interest in the film?

"I'm sure David will not completely adhere to the original story. He will change a few things in his own style. It's too early to reveal anything else right now," said Arbaaz.

His forthcoming films include Priyadarshan's "Bhagam Bhaag", Sanjay Gupta's "Shootout At Lokhandwala" and "Woodstock Villa" and Ahmed Khan's "Fool And Final".
